7-day tour with 6 overnight stays
1st day: An air-conditioned van will put you up from your beach-hotel, starting a journey to the green inner land. In Pinnawela you will visit the well known “Orphanage of Elephants”, where wounded and orphan elephants are hosted and cared: you will be allowed to go “on touch” through an unique experience. From here it is not much far to Kandy, the most “whirly” town of the country. On evening you will have enough time to visit here a traditional dancing show (Kandy Dance).
2nd day: Going to the famous Rock of Sigiriya, where the remains of a king’s temple are located and where you can see yet today the famous paintings of the “Girls of the Clouds”, you may make a pleasant break and visit a garden with aromatic herbs.
3rd day: Visitation of the Buddhist temple in Dambulla, which teems of begging monkeys.
4th day: Journey back to Kandy, visiting the “Tooth’s Temple”.
5th day: Visitation of the Botanic Garden of Kandy. Then the journey continues to the highland, via Nuwara Elya to Hatton. A little stretch of way behind Hatton you will reach the Rozella Tea Factory and the Binoya Estate, where you will stay for night.
6th day: During winter time you will climb on the Adam‘s Peak, looked on from all the major worldwide religions as a holy mountain. During summer time, as the Adam‘s Peak is closed, you may follow the trek through the tea plantation, enjoying the beautiful panorama and the deep stillness. A visitation of the Rozella Tea Manufactory is compulsory.
7th day: Traveling from the highland back to the coast.
Benefits: 6 overnight stays with half board, 4 in air-conditioned hotel rooms and 2 in guestrooms of the Binoya Estate, where the temperatures are lower.
